“Unusual Dates” (Unusual Mom Email)

So my parents *love* sending me weird spammy emails full of bad jokes and political GIFs, oftentimes written in a dizzying mix of Russian and English, or Rushglish, if you will. I’ve learned to ignore them for the most part, though they’re good for the occasional chuckle and exasperated head shake, but today’s email was kind of intriguing:

FW: Unusual dates

This year we will experience 4 unusual dates…. 1/1/11,  1/11/11,  11/1/11,  11/11/11….

NOW go figure this out…. take the last 2 digits of the year you were born plus the

age you will be this year and it

WILL EQUAL …. 111 …I tried it and it worked

At first I was convinced this was some sort of chain letter scheme where if your numbers don’t add up to 111 you’ll have to forward the email to 111 friends or risk having bad luck for 111 years, die 111 gruesome deaths, etc., etc., but so far, it’s worked for myself and everyone I’ve had try it.

Kinda cool, kinda weird, but most of all, leaves me with the infamous words of the Double Rainbow guy ringing in my head: “But what does it all mean?!?!”
